Refresh Rate Test
Watch the marker sweep across your screen while this page measures how many frames your browser actually renders per second — a good approximation of your monitor's real refresh rate. For best results, go fullscreen.
What This Measures
This tool counts animation frames per second using your browser's own render loop — a close approximation of your display's refresh rate, though browser throttling can affect accuracy slightly.
60Hz vs. High Refresh
Standard monitors run at 60Hz. Gaming monitors commonly reach 120–360Hz, producing noticeably smoother motion — the marker sweep should look visibly less choppy at higher rates.
Getting an Accurate Reading
Close other tabs and background apps before testing, and let the counter settle for a few seconds — the first reading right after loading the page can be slightly low.
If the Number Looks Capped
If your reading tops out at 60 despite owning a high-refresh monitor, check that your OS display settings and the cable/port you're using both actually support the higher rate.
