Screen Tools is a set of free online tools for working with your display. Every tool runs entirely in your browser — no account required, no app to install, no data collected. Open a tool and it works immediately.

What We Built and Why

People reach for these kinds of tools constantly — before video calls, when unboxing a new monitor, during product photo shoots, or when they need a distraction-free timer. We built Screen Tools because the best version of a simple utility is one that loads instantly, does exactly what it says, and gets out of the way.

Every tool is built on the same principles: instant, private, keyboard-friendly, and compatible with every modern browser and device.

The Tools

White Screen — A full-brightness white display for cleaning monitors, photography fill lighting, and video call illumination.

Black Screen — A pure black display for saving power on OLED screens, checking backlight bleed, and reducing eye strain.

Colour Screen — Fill your display with any solid colour using 10 presets or a full custom colour picker. Useful for photography, design work, and display testing.

Focus Timer — A Pomodoro-style focus timer with a distraction-free fullscreen mode. Build your own sequence of named timers, save presets, auto-continue between phases, set a daily session goal, and track weekly stats.

Meeting Timer — A plain fullscreen countdown for meetings and presentations, with a warning threshold and overtime tracking.

20-20-20 Eye Rest — A background reminder that follows the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Resolution Checker — A live readout of your screen and browser resolution, pixel ratio, colour depth, and orientation.

Dead Pixel Test — Cycle through red, green, blue, white, and black test screens to identify dead or stuck pixels on any display. Includes auto-cycle mode.

Uniformity Test — A fullscreen grey field with an adjustable brightness slider for spotting backlight bleed and clouding.

Refresh Rate Test — Measures your display's actual refresh rate with a moving marker and live Hz readout.

Burn-in Test — A continuously drifting bright pattern for exercising or checking OLED and plasma panels for burn-in.

Contrast Test — A grid of near-black steps to test how much shadow detail your display can distinguish.

Banding Test — Switchable gradients across grayscale and colour channels to reveal 8-bit banding and dithering quality.

Night Light — An adjustable warm-toned overlay to reduce blue light during evening work or study sessions.
